Adopt-a-Chaplain
Everglades Community Church is an active participant in the Adopt-a-Chaplain program, which is a Christ-centered ministry dedicated to supporting our troops through the ministries of military Chaplains. By "adopting" a Chaplain, we pray for our "adopted" Chaplain and her family and communicate with her regularly. We send weekly "care packages" to her unit in Iraq that she then distributes to her troops. To learn more about our Chaplain, Captain Lisa Northway, please visit her website:

Lighthouse of Hope Ministry
Ruth & Barry Johnson
Everglades Community Church supports the ministry of Ruth and Barry Johnson with a monthly stipend. We have been blessed as a congregation to have met these truly precious people who live and breathe their love of God.
As shared on their lovely website, To walk by faith together as a husband and wife team in this calling is worth everything that it costs us for the Lord is our Pearl of Great price. Serving Him is our treasure. They have authored a number of articles that capture their amazing journey as they walk by faith to reach the most unreached tribes in East Africa. A burning desire stirs within them each year to once again return to these tribes desperately in need of the hope of the Gospel. While in Eastern Uganda early in 2006, revival broke out as they explain that the Lord radically changed an ominously dark, demonically oppressed mountain and gave it a new name, Mt. Zion, the "Place Where The Glory Of Our God Dwells."

Everglades Community Church is a member and participates in this organization whose primary purpose is to coordinate the diverse resources and talents of our local residents, community leaders, businesses, churches, private and public organizations together with our city and county governments to provide financial aid to the needy and to develop social, physical and environmental improvement programs for the Everglades community. "An important mission of our ministry has been spreading Revival with which the Lord has blessed us in our lives. Through a revelation from the Holy Spirit, the slogan of our work has become the words, “REVIVAL MUST GO ON.” We are convinced that in our ministerial context, revival will come through restructuring and reinforcement. Restructuring is needed in the way ministry and leadership is done.
